I am editing my review as significant changes have been made. We have eaten there several times and been pleased with how the meat was prepared and cooked.
TLDR:
Medium rare isn’t purple. Plain and simple.
I love Outback but not the Lawton location. It was an ungreatful experience. They brought all of our good cold. When we asked if they could fix it, they got the manager and she seemed anoyed. Then when they brought back out the food, they have us a smaller steak then we ordered (or charged for). When we said something, the manager came back even more annoyed. I ask for a to go box without even touching my food and we left after paying $75. Would not recommend the Lawton location.
My wife and I have frequented this restaurant several times over the last couple of years. We have never had an issue until tonight. We ordered a grilled chicken salad, a house salad with no cheese, tortilla soup with no cheese, and a baked potato with butter, bacon, and chives. Literally every part of our order was incorrect. They forgot the grilled chicken on the salad, put cheese on the house salad and tortilla soup, and we got a baked potato with nothing on it. I understand this may have just been a bad night but when you mess up every part of an order, your staff clearly doesn't care.
Great service. The prime rib is amazing and it was raining when we started to leave a gentleman working there had an umbrella and followed us to our vehicle so we wouldn't get wet.
This is the place we always say we are not going back to. Quite inconsistent regarding food and service. Last time our server checked in with us way too much and we felt like she was wanting us to leave. Perhaps she was new as her approach to us was akward. Lobster tail is a joke, don't bother. Drinks were good. If we do go back it will be next year.
The other food is fine here, but don’t go to this “steakhouse” for steak because they can’t ever cook it right, and then will argue with you when you send it back and tell you what you *should* have ordered it as.
I never get a steak cooked correctly when coming here. Went there last night an ordered the 8oz Victoria fillet medium rare. It was brought to my table, and the server left without having us cut into the steaks first. It was purple. Thick purple through the middle. Like they seared it in each side for 30 seconds then put it on the plate. When the server finally came back I told her it was wrong and she tried to argue with me that that color was medium rare. NO. They took the steak back and put it back on the grill, and the manager brought it to me again. Cut into it, STILL THICK PURPLE. She said “well we are quoted at a medium rare being a thick warm red center.” I said, “ok but this is purple. This is rare.” They took it back a second time (which now the steak was getting dried out) and when it came back it was finally medium rare, but the outside was essentially burned and it was dried out because they took the same cut up steak on and off heat 3 times. She nicely comped the steak, but that’s not the point. I wanted to pay for a good steak and eat it the way it’s ordered to be cooked. Not have it sent back twice wrong.
