Terrible experience from beginning to end! When the body was picked up, it was picked up by someone contracted by the funeral home. He arrived in his personal work truck and his gurney would not fold properly. He insisted however, that his dad was buying him a new one (LoL)! No Joke! It was obvious to me that this was just a way for him to pick up extra money. Throughout the administrative portion of the process, I felt as though they were trying to sell me a used car! But, oh It did not end there! As people were arriving for the funeral, they had to pass by funeral home drivers repairing a flat tire on the hearse right in front of the church! Really?! Perhaps this could have waited until everyone was inside or here's a thought, have a "Plan B"! It doesn't stop there either. Now, two weeks after the funeral, the nightmare continues, as we have yet to receive the Death Certificate, and have been told something different each time we called to inquire! Absolute disaster from beginning to end! The loss of a loved one is hard enough, and it’s made even more difficult when you must endure the folly of what is, at best, a second rate operation! Avoid at all cost! Mr. Breemer where are YOU?!!!
I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I lost my daughter at 26 weeks pregnant and decided to have her cremated. I contacted Whinery-Huddleston after contacting so many other places and I'm SO GLAD I chose them. They have been so kind and sweet. I get to pick my daughter up later this week which will be such an emotional day BUT I know she is in great hands. Thank you to everyone there for everything you have done.
I had flowers sent to a Whinery Huddleston on a Saturday. I was told that Whinery Huddleston would transport the flowers to the memorial service on Monday. I couldn't be at the service and I wanted the family to know that I was thinking of them. The deceased was cremated; therefore, there was no viewing. Unfortunately, the flowers never made it to the memorial service and the family had no idea that I had sent flowers until Wednesday when they were delivered by the funeral home to the widow's home. When I called to ask about the problem, no one would return my call. I finally had to threaten to visit Whinery Huddleston and cause a scene before someone would return my call. Jennifer Assbury, the funeral director, talked to me just long enough to tell me that she didn't have to listen to me and then she hung up with no explanation as to why my flowers were treated so carelessly. Wow! I definitely would not recommend anyone using this funeral home!
Horrible from start to finish. They were unprofessional prepared NOTHING. ZERO compassion. They did so many things wrong I don't have enough time to type it all and to top it off they delivered dead flowers to the grave.
I have never dealt with such unprofessional funeral services as this! They should explain/made understood the difference between a viewing and a visitation. The body was haphazardly laid on a guerney (head in unnatural position) with a sheet over it! Names were misspelled on the memorial bulletin. Arrangements weren't settled till day of memorial service as to location. That's only the tip of the iceberg.
