My kiddos WERE patients, until yesterday. Her office called asking about new insurance info. I explained that our insurance has changed & I would bring the new card with us at the time of their appointments the next day. She said that wouldn't work & we had give her the updated info over the phone. I explained that we do not give personal info over the phone (you can't be too safe in today's world ~ being a victim of stolen info before I take every precaution I can). She said that's unacceptable and they had to have the info today so I needed to bring it by the office. We live 40 minutes away so that wasn't an option. So....she goes and gets the doctor and puts her on the phone. (BTW...I've never spoken to this doctor before ~ just dental assistants at the kids appts). Now, this doctor makes it very clear that all she's worried about is whether or not she's going to get paid which, to an extent I understand, so I try to assure her that our BCBS Dental covers cleanings and if for some reason something isn't covered we would pay anything out of pocket we need to ~ at the time of service! I even told her that we would take care of it BEFORE they were seen! Didn't matter....
Just a heads up also: this office is set up really weird. If you like patient privacy this isn't the place for you. In my opinion, privacy practices are very poor. Plus if you have kids they do NOT allow you to go back with your kiddos, you have to sit in the waiting area. I had issues with this so I would just go back anyway and kinda stand there or sit in the chairs next to the reception desk so I could always see my kids. The ladies at the reception desk didn't seem to like that very much as I would get looks the whole time from them but the dental assistants didn't seem to mind.
I could understand all this commotion IF we had a history of payment problems or insurance problems. I DO NOT understand this kind of demeaning treatment towards established patients just because they've had a change of insurance. They lost 3 patients over an insurance change......if payment is ALL your concerned about then you probably shouldn't have gone into the healthcare field....
I've been going to this office since 2005. Never have had any issues. Very professional, very friendly, very caring.
Dr. A and her team is great! The girls at the front desk were very friendly and courteous. They were very fast and efficient! Thank you for taking care of my teeth!
