It's sad that a few dissatisfied customers felt it necessary to write FLAMING reviews about this establishment on social media. I wonder if these disappointed folks sought resolution face to face before they took it to Facebook?
I have been taking my dogs here for years. Mr. and Mrs. Clemmer are amazing and they take such good care of my pups! The kennels are extremely clean and they have been really accommodating when we needed them most!
My wife and I have taken our dogs to Clemmer's Pet Resort for over 15 years. Clemmer's is one of the cleanest, most spacious, and secure kennels you will find in the Lawton area. Each dog has an indoor/outdoor run with the freedom to come in and out as they please. The outdoor portion is partially covered. Water is always available and the dogs are fed high quality food 2x daily. You can even bring your own food and they will feed it to your pet.
I Brought my dog for 4th of July. She was extremely distressed and scared, with tail tucked tight upon pick up. We dropped her off at 10:30am on the 4th of July and picked her up on the 5th at 5:30pm. She spent the entire time on flat concrete without access to grass to relieve herself. For all I know she may have not used the restroom at all. The first patch of grass she saw, she peed for what seemed like an eternity. Is this normal? She pulled all the way to the car. The dogs are constantly barking and the noise is unbearable. As soon as she saw her food, she devoured the entire thing and normally she eats very slow. I have had sitters and boarded my dog before at several different locations and she has never behaved this way. I'm not sure what took place at this kennel but they seemed to be more concerned with getting my $35 and closing on time than taking care of dogs. The woman swore that she told me they only accepted cash or check, but she never did. The man told me to pick her up before 11:00am on Sunday. Then called me that night saying he forgot that it was Sunday and pick up is not until 5:00pm. They may have memory problems due to their age, (elderly couple with no assistants). They do not have what it takes to take care of your family members.
Please, do yourself a favor and just come check this place out sometime--during posted drop off & pick up times, of course.
Do the Clemmer's expect folks to abide by their pick-up and drop-off times--on the boarding agreement you sign? Yes.
Bob and Sue Clemmer are not two "Old People" working by themselves. There are at least two part time "young people" who work for the kennel part time.
When it comes right down to it, I STILL trust the Clemmer's with my dogs. I've tried other kennels, but always come back to the best.
Are the Clemmer's unable to adequately care for your pet? NO!
We have used the Clemmers for years and have never had a bad experience. They do enforce their hours of drop off and pick-up, but those are clearly stated in their ads, etc. Dogs bark when other dogs and people walk by their cage and so I do not find it surprising that it would be noisy during drop off times. I am sure it quiets down after that. I have always found them very loving to our dogs. It is not HOME, but it sure beats a little cage with no outdoor run at all. I have not found anything locally that I like better.
We brought our dogs here after just moving to the area. When we called to schedule we were looking for a Saturday to a Saturday. We were never told the hours of business. I called the day before drop off to ask for their address, the gentleman who spoke to me was very friendly and helpful. I was not told to bring their shot records, and was told they would be in the back by the kennels and to come any time. We showed up around 10:30am on Saturday to drop off, we were never asked to sign any documentation. When I went to pick up (Saturday at 1:30ish) I was greeted by a lady screaming at me saying I was trespassing. She was pointing her finger in my face and telling me I was unable to pick up my dogs and talking to me like I was a 12 year old child misbehaving (in front of my 7 year old child). She told me I was lying about not knowing the business hours and not being told. There were no signs saying what they were or that they were closed. In order to get my dogs back I had to argue with her for a good 20 minutes and pay an additional $57 for NO REASON. She said my drop off paperwork had their hours on it and I should have known. I did not see any paperwork when we dropped off, there was nothing that I had signed. I would not recommend this place to anyone! If customers are treated this way I can t imagine how the speechless animals are being treated. Both of my dogs came home with bug bites all over them. One of my dogs has 14 bites on just the inside of one leg. If I could have given less than 1 star I would have. I don t want anyone to experience what we did.
Are the Clemmer's getting older? Yes.
