Just a Disaster...
First night my mom, sister and I arrive from traveling all day from New York, we were ready to just get to our room and sleep. Once we get to our rooms we notice that both beds were full of fur and there was kibble on the floor as well. So I ask for a new room, the next day seemed fine but we noticed little bugs crawling around by the window sill. A couple of hours pass and I go to get my left over food I ordered earlier in the day and there were ants EVERYWHERE. My mom starts to check around and of course we find more behind the fridge, inside of it as well as in the bathroom, on the counters, by the bedside table and to top it all off in the beds. Furious I go to the front desk and speak to the same lady who helped us with our previous room. She instead of giving us a new room called maintenance to spray down the room and offered a 10% off.... I am beyond disappointed with the service I received and also disgusted because after they “sprayed it down” we didn’t get any clean sheets. Never again will I stay at a Best Western... especially at this location, it’s the dirtiest hotel and the service, aside from the morning crew who serve breakfast, was horrible.
I did like the beds, TV, in room Ethernet jack, and breakfast. However there was probably more complaints than I needed. Tons of mosquitoes in the room, they were breeding in the bathroom. Had to kill like 5 the first night and like 3 more the next night. There was 2 entry doors, external and internal, external one was damaged and couldn't be used. Internal one locked me out on one occasion so I had to wait for maintenance to come fix and let me in. Staff was very kind and helpful though. Internal HVAC unit cooled very well but when I turned the heater on it smelled really bad and triggered the smoke alarm. So I didn't use that. If I was staying there more than 3 nights I would have just asked for another room. However these things should be looked at more closely. I also was expecting a typical Best Western, but I got this Plus version which seemed like a downgrade from the Normal Best Western hotels. Looked more like a motel.
Good spot has a bar and great free breakfast. Upgraded my room to a suite no extra charge. Only problem was with the door , it had a makeshift chain to it with a screw n bolt that didn't work too well. Otherwise it was good.
It was a horrible experience, especially after the fact when trying to work something out with customer service. I reserved this hotel out of so many others in the Lawton area because it has an indoor pool and a gym. The pool water was green and the gym equipment only worked sometimes. The wing I was in had a funky, stale smoke smell. I complained about the pool and gym to the front desk and was told they'd notify maintenance. I called BW corporate office that Monday. I only received a call from the manager of the hotel on 10/13, the night before I was to leave, with an offer to move me to another room (after I had been there all week). Now, I am trying to work on getting some kind of reimbursement for these issues I went through and am offered ZERO! WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS?
Had a good stay. You will notice the age of the hotel. However BW has renovated rooms, furniture and common areas to a modern feel. Staff at the counter was very accommodating. Maintenance swiftly replaced my broken microwave. Great staff experience here. The one thing was that room service never really came to my room and tidied up. They replaced towels and left. Bed wasn't made after use over the course of your days. Free shuttle from the airport, close to fort sill for graduating soldiers:) hooah!
